The research outcomes from biotechnologies can widely apply to medical treatment, environmental protection, agriculture, and energy to improve people’s lives and create a more friendly environment for generations to come. In the post-genomic era, biotechnologies have become one of the most important sciences and closely affect the development of our society at large.

The Department has signed up industry-academia cooperation programs with a number of companies domestically and abroad. A doctoral program on industry-academia collaboration thus has been set up recently. It is hoped that the cooperation of academics and industry will bring about a new generation of talents in the field.
