The Institute and the Department of Biological Science and Technology of National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) were established in 1994 and 1999 respectively. Setting goals on cultivating students with academic and industrial talents on interdisciplinary biological science and technology, the Institute and the Department became the first to focus on the biotechnology innovation.
All courses of the Department are assigned in concert with the expertise of each faculty. Based on their excellent research performance and open thinking, our faculty always provide the best and the most appropriate learning environment for students.
Most faculty are working on two or more research projects concurrently, including many nationwide research, interdisciplinary research, and government-approved research projects. On the average, faculty in the College of the Biological Science and Technology publish more than four research papers and reports annually. Their incredible research potential forms the most important factor in providing students to achieve their best performance.
